App & Software Localization

Interfaces are the toughest discipline in localization: little space, lots of context, constant releases. We localize apps and software so that buttons fit and releases don't wait.

Software localization hinges on plural rules and pixels

"1 file deleted" is simple – but Polish has three plural forms, Arabic six, and your "Save" button suddenly becomes twice as wide in Finnish. UI texts live within constraints: space, variables, states. Translating them like prose introduces errors that users will find.

We localize in a technical context: with your string files, with screenshots per string, with pluralization and formatting rules per language. The result feels like it was developed in the target country – not like it was translated later.

How it works

  1. 01

    i18n Check

We review your internationalization: hardcoded text, missing plurals, format assumptions – with a concrete fix list before the first translation.

  2. 02

    Build Context

Strings get screenshots, descriptions, and constraints – half the quality is created before translating.

  3. 03

    Localization & Review

Translation with term base, review in the live application – including lengths, states, and RTL where relevant.

  4. 04

    Process Integration

Your pipeline delivers new strings, ours returns reviewed versions – continuously instead of in pain releases.

Context, Not Blind Flight

We translate with screenshots and variable awareness – so that 'Save' translates to 'Speichern' and not 'Sparen'.

In Your Workflow

JSON, XLIFF, PO, iOS/Android formats – connected to your repository, compatible with your CI. New strings are incrementally pulled.

Pseudo and Review Builds

Before release, we check the localized interface in context – length issues and line break bugs are caught before the user, not after.

Typical use cases

SaaS Products

Web apps entering new markets: complete UI, emails, and onboarding from a single source.

Mobile Apps

iOS and Android with one process: platform-specific formats, store texts included.

Internal Tools & Dashboards

Even employees deserve understandable software – especially in international teams.

What you get

  • i18n audit with fix list before project start
  • Localization in your formats (JSON, XLIFF, ARB, PO, etc.)
  • Plural, date, number, and address formats per language
  • Review in the live application with screenshots
  • Term base for UI terms, consistent across documentation and support
  • CI/CD integration for continuous localization
Good UI localization is not seen – you only notice that nothing is off.

Frequently asked questions about this service

Do you work with our existing translation tool?

Yes – whether you already use a translation management system or work directly with repository files: we integrate into your existing setup instead of imposing a new system.

How do you handle very short strings without context?

Not at all – context comes first: screenshots, descriptions, state. 'Open' can be a verb or an adjective; we don't guess, we ask or document. That's what sets UI localization apart from string swapping.

What about right-to-left languages in the app?

Our specialty: layout mirroring, icon directions, and bidirectional text are also checked – see our RTL service that integrates seamlessly.
