Translation API – Translation as a Building Block for Your Systems
Integrate professional translation into 24 EU official languages directly into your application, shop, or editorial pipeline. Pay-as-you-go without base fee: you pay per translated word – AI speed, with optional native-language spot-checking via webhooks.
Why a dedicated translation API?
If you need product data, support responses, or editorial content in multiple languages on an ongoing basis, you cannot create a project for each text. The Baduno Translation API turns translation into an infrastructure component: your system calls, our pipeline delivers – with the same terminology care as in our projects.
The difference from generic translation APIs lies in the specialization for European business communication: glossaries per client, style profiles per brand, HTML and placeholder fidelity for web content – and, on request, real humans in the review step.

How it works
- 01
Create sandbox key
In the customer portal, create a free test key with word quota – no payment data required.
- 02
Build integration
With documentation and sample snippets, integrate the endpoint into your system; the sandbox behaves exactly like production.
- 03
Store glossary & style
Your terminology and style profile are stored and enforced from now on for every request.
- 04
Go live & scale
Activate production key, set monthly limit, done. You only pay for what is actually translated.
One endpoint, 24 languages
A single REST call translates text, HTML, or structured JSON into any EU official language. Placeholders, markup, and variables remain untouched – the response retains your exact structure.
Usage-based instead of subscription
No basic fee, no minimum term: Billed monthly based on actual translated words. The sandbox with test quota is free – you integrate first, decide later.
Quality on Demand
Three levels selectable per request: fast AI translation, terminology-true Pro level with glossary enforcement, or Review level with native-language spot-checking and webhook feedback.
Built for developers, designed for business teams
Authentication via API keys, clear error codes, idempotency keys to prevent duplicate processing, batch endpoint with webhook callback for large volumes: The API follows the conventions your team expects from good web APIs. The documentation includes runnable examples for curl, JavaScript, PHP, and Python.
Meanwhile, departments retain control: in the customer portal, you see consumption, costs, and keys in real time, set monthly limits, and upload glossaries that enforce every API response. This ensures brand consistency for automated translations.

Typical use cases
Shop & Product Data
New articles automatically appear in all target languages – directly from your PIM or shop system, with consistent terminology.
Support & Communication
Tickets, chat responses, and knowledge base articles are translated upon saving – your team replies across Europe in the local language.
Editorial pipelines
CMS content, newsletters, and campaigns pass through the API before going live – with an optional human review step via webhook.
Translation becomes valuable when it happens where your content is created – not in a separate tool.

Frequently asked questions about this service
How much does the Translation API cost?
You pay per translated word and target language – no base fee and no minimum order. The current pricing tiers (Basic, Pro, Review) can be found on our pricing page; for very large volumes of 500,000 words per month or more, we create a custom tier.
Will my content be used to train AI models?
No. Translated content is processed solely for service delivery, hosted in the EU, and deleted from processing logs after 30 days. Details are governed by our Data Processing Agreement.
How reliable is the machine quality?
The AI tier reliably delivers very good results for factual business texts; glossaries safeguard your terminology. For visible or legally relevant content, we recommend the Review tier, where native speakers check samples and you receive the result via webhook.
